The Golden Age of Hollywood Tarot Deck is a 78 card deck using standard RWS interpretations. The content is inspired by Hollywood’s golden age (1920’s to 1960’s) an acknowledged period of prolific and excellent movie making.
The deck is glamorous yet accessible. The images are stand-alone.
They can be interpreted without knowledge of this era , but if you have seen the movies it can add depth and meaning to your interpretations.
The images are engaging, glamorous and colourful – the least you would expect from a Hollywood deck! A good deck for those that find it hard to get into some of the older decks and perhaps are not so keen on fairy, angel or dolphin decks and such like.
Some of the names of the cards have been changed in line with the filmic theme: Aces are the Birth card; Pages are the Magic card; Knights are Focus; Queens are the Glory card; and Kings are Power.
A few of the Major Arcana have name changes too. Specifically: the Magician is now The Entrepreneur; The High Priestess is The Psychic; The Empress and Emperor are The Matriarch and Patriarch respectively; The Hierophant is The Bureaucrat; Justice is renamed Liberty; and Death becomes Transformation.
